Job Details

The University of North Alabama’s Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions (ACONHP) is seeking a qualified full-time tenure-track faculty at the rank of assistant professor for the nursing programs. Candidates qualifying for other ranks will be considered. Salary and rank will be based on qualifications of the successful candidate.

Duties in addition to teaching 12-15 credit hours per semester include clinical supervision of students, advisement, engaging in scholarly activities and professional service, and service to the department, college, and the University. Instructional areas include medical / surgical nursing, critical care, nutrition, and other undergraduate nursing courses. Additional responsibilities include participation in curriculum and course development, advisement and recruitment, ability to work within a culturally diverse student population, maintaining office hours in accordance with university policy, and performing other duties as assigned.  There is one faculty position available.

Minimum qualifications include: Master’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution is required; Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred; Five years of clinical practice is required; Current unrestricted nursing license in the State of Alabama, or the ability to obtain such, is required; Three years of classroom or clinical teaching experience in an accredited registered nursing program or higher degree nursing program, preferred; Online teaching experience and/or willingness to teach online courses is preferred; Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner experience is desired.  Should there be no qualified doctoral candidates; qualified doctoral student candidates may be given priority.
