The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Business Operations (CBO) is an administrative unit within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and has oversight of the College’s centralized financial and research administration services including: Accounting Services, Budgets and Planning, Business Liaison Services, Research Administration, and Operational Support.Essential Job Duties
The Accounting Supervisor will supervise 7-9 Accounting Services Representatives and 1 University Program Specialist. The position is responsible for full knowledge of all University policies, procedures and regulations as they relate to financial transactions. The Accounting Supervisor must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of all state and federal spending guidelines to supervise the successful processing of transactions. The position audits for both transaction compliance and staff effectiveness and monitors the processing and approval of financial transactions. The position is also responsible for managing any number of Business Services programs and responsibilities and advising leadership and administrators. This position provides program management of one of CALS Business Services teams (i.e PCard, Travel, Initiator Transactions (i.e. IDJs, JV, Vouchers, Requisitions and Marketplace), Approvers and Accounts Receivables functions. The Accounting Supervisor provides daily coaching and regular training sessions for team to ensure protocols are being followed and for performance management. Provides input on new processes to be implemented that affect daily work flow of unit. Identifies training opportunities for team as it relates to financial processes. Proactively identifies problems and develops resolutions through business process improvement methodology such as Lean Sigma. Builds and maintains customer satisfaction to the highest standard, adhering to CBO customer service principles, ensuring processing and interactions of team meets the needs of the customer. The Accounting Supervisor effectively communicates business processes and policy requirements across the college. This position is a direct contact to resolve complex customer concerns and resolves conflict.Other Work/Responsibilities

Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate’s degree in Accounting; or Associate’s degree in Business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Must possess knowledge of Excel, ServiceNow, PeopleSoft (or similar software), basic accounting principles and have prior supervisory experience in managing a diverse team. Knowledge of campus policy, procedures, compliance management for contracts and grants, state and federal spending guidelines and gifts and foundations accounting. Ability to establish effective working relationships with business and program personnel.Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework and one year experience;
Associate’s degree in Accounting; or Associate’s degree in Business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework and three years of experience.
Thorough knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial 9.1, WOLF Reporting and Excel including ability to sort, subtotal and create functions or similar software.Required License or Certification
