Position Summary

The NYU Waserman Center for Career Development at SPS is seeking a Career Development Counselor to guide, advise, and support students through the career planning, decision making, and job searching processes. Other responsibilities include assist students in analyzing their interests, skills and developing career goals at all stages in their professional and academic careers. Assist with career programs including planning, marketing and implementation and gathering data to analyze program effectiveness and student outcomes. Work closely with employers to assist them with talent needs utilizing employer resources available (in-person and virtual offerings) from job postings, recruiter-in-residence, resume books, career fairs/industry expos, social media initiatives, as well as involvement in employer forums, conferences, career development panels and programs.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's degreePreferred Education:Master's degree in a related fieldRequired Experience:2 year' relevant experience in career services, career counseling, student personnel, human resources,, recruitment, admissions or related field and equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience implementing programs, seminars, events, and preparing training materials.Preferred Experience:Industry experience representative of NYU SPS programs. Experience working with international students and professionals in the workforce.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Career planning, assessment, and job search expertise. Excellent communication, presentation, writing and organizational skills. Ability to deal with a diverse population at all levels.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Experience working with international students and professionals in the workforce. Experience using social media platforms and understanding surveys and assessment.
