The School of Nursing at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, is seeking an experienced, innovative, and visionary academic to fill the Chairperson position.The School of Nursing is part of Husson University's College of Health & Pharmacy which also includes the Schools of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The University is committed to delivering premier professional programs that emphasize experiential learning, student success and interprofessional education.The School of Nursing enrolls approximately 120 undergraduate and 70 graduate students per year and offers, a traditional BSN, an online RN to BSN track, three Nurse Practitioner degrees and a Nurse Educator MS.Husson University is a private institution of approximately 3600 undergraduate and graduate students located in Bangor, Maine. Bangor has been ranked as one of the top 50 small cities in the U.S. It offers a safe, affordable community with excellent education, healthcare, easy access to major urban centers, and a wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities. Year round activities can be enjoyed on the numerous lakes, trails, and ski areas. The University is approximately 40 minutes from the ocean and the nearby mountains of Acadia National Park.Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a full time 12-month position with a faculty rank of Associate or Full Professor and administrative and some teaching responsibilities. The School of Nursing Chairperson is a direct report to the Dean of the College of Health and Education and is responsible for mentoring and developing faculty, overseeing accreditation, managing budgets and grants, guiding the curriculum and providing leadership in all aspects of the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

Education & Experience:

To be considered, applicants must be licensed Registered Nurses with an academic doctorate (Ph.D, Sc.D., Ed.D.) and a graduate degree in nursing. A minimum of 7 years teaching experience in higher education and demonstrated higher education administrative experience is expected. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate knowledge of CCNE accreditation processes, current methods of outcomes-based instructional assessment, and student success strategies.
