About This Position

Dr. Wei Li’s laboratory at University of Miami School of Medicine is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Associate. The Li lab is interested in cell-cell communication and therapeutic target discovery. This position is funded by a NIH grant to investigate disease mechanisms, cellular and molecular regulations, and novel therapies. The Li lab has recently developed innovative technology of ligandomics to globally profile autocrine and paracrine factors. Comparative ligandomics can systemically map disease-selective factors for novel targeted therapies. This has led to a unique targeted therapy to treat different vascular diseases with multiple indications. Our research emphasizes translational research, including global profiling of cell-cell communications, systematic discovery of drug targets, function- or therapy-first target validation, and drug development. We are currently focusing on development of novel therapies for vascular diseases, including ocular vascular diseases. Our recent publications can be found in PubMed at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/myncbi/wei.li.2/bibliography/40172985/public/?sort=date&direction=descending
