Department Overview
The mission of the Division of Research & Innovation is to assist all components of the research enterprise at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Position Details
The Division of Research & Innovation at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Research Associate for its Genomics Core Laboratory.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* Conduct genomic sequencing workflow, operate and maintain related equipment, prepare samples, process data and assist with interpretation of data.
* Assist scientists with experimental design.
* Provide customer service to users of the newly established Genomics Core Laboratory.
Specific responsibilities to include:
* Assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples.
* Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of ndings.
* Keep detailed logs of all work-related activities.
* Use computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.
* Clean, maintain and prepare supplies and work areas.
* Set up, adjust, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and eld equipment.
* Prepare samples and solutions for use in testing.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Master's degree from four-year college or university and one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Instructions to Applicants

Laboratory work environment with exposure to hazardous chemicals, biologic materials and equipment.
Working conditions will largely be in a laboratory setting. Physical requirements include operating computer equipment and complex laboratory instrumentation. Occasionally required to lift up to 35 lbs., push, pull, stand, walk, bend.
