We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research associate with an interest in interdisciplinary research across the lung cancer care continuum. Our current NCI funded R01 project focuses on examining the delivery, quality and outcomes of lung cancer screening in North Carolina, with an emphasis on evaluating disparities in intermediate lung cancer screening outcomes. The post-doctoral research associate will work on this innovative study that uses established methods in population-based registry development to explore an emerging clinically relevant cancer screening area for which limited data exist. Through this experience, the post-doctoral research associate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will gain experience conducting literature reviews, collecting data from community-based facilities, analyzing data, drafting, editing and submitting manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals, assisting with grant writing, and other duties as they arise during the course of the project. The post-doctoral research associate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Educational Requirements

Doctoral degree in a public health, nursing, or medicine, and at least one year of related training or experience working on cancer prevention and control or outcomes studies; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in cancer prevention and control or cancer outcomes research, analyzing risk factor data, manuscript writing, and project management is highly preferred. Experience with large dataset and utilizing SAS is preferred
