Texas State University will launch a new civil engineering program, focused on technology-enhanced infrastructure, in fall 2019. Currently, the program seeks to fill a non-tenure line associate professor of practice or professor of practice position to begin with the fall 2019 (preferred) or spring 2020 semester. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach general civil engineering courses as well as courses in their area of expertise, at the undergraduate and graduate level. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and school established standards. Required Qualifications

• An undergraduate or master’s degree in civil engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years recent experience in a professional practice or management capacity with at least three in a leadership or upper administrative role.
• Applicant must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) License or be able to obtain a PE License within a period of five years or demonstrate, by virtue of education and/or design experience, qualifications to teach courses that are primarily design in content.

Preferred Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral level degree in civil engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Record of teaching experience related to civil engineering.
• Experience in the application of technology to infrastructure.
• Experience with the analysis and design of infrastructure utilities.
• Experience with ABET accreditation procedures and deliverables.
• Demonstrated leadership roles in civil engineering related professional organizations.
• Record of professional publications and presentations.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
