Master’s degree or doctorate in counseling, social work, clinical psychology, counseling psychology or other degree that meets eligibility requirements in Texas for licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Four years of full-time clinical experience following completion of the master’s degree or completion of a one-year full-time doctoral internship or one year of full-time postdoctoral experience as a professional counselor/social worker. Experience working with a wide range of client problems and levels of severity. Completion of supervised hours for licensure by start date and licensure in Texas within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a university counseling center or health service providing counseling/psychotherapy and related clinical services in the context of integrated health services/collaborative care/behavioral health. Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and providing mental health consultation to other professionals. Experience working with alcohol or other substance use problems. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a high demand clinical setting, strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and emerging knowledge of psychopharmacology. Current licensure in Texas.

Job Description

Responsible for providing integrated health services including individual and group counseling for personal, psychological, and adjustment issues, and providing crisis intervention; developing and implementing educational workshops, and consulting with faculty, staff and concerned others regarding student problems.

Job Duties

•Provide culturally competent, inclusive and ethical treatment to students with diverse mental health concerns
•Consult with Student Health Center (SHC) and Counseling Center (CC) staff regarding students seeking mental health services
•Provide education and training on mental health related issues to SHC staff, as requested
•Maintain current, accurate and timely clinical documentation in CC electronic record system in accordance with state/federal law, professional ethics and CC policies.
•Actively participate in staff meetings, Clinical Review, continuing education, and other meetings and events as assigned.
