We are looking for qualified dual credit Early Childhood Education faculty beginning with the Fall 2019 semester. Successful applicants must already be on the faculty of Glenbrook South High School



Job Description:


Oakton is looking for qualified dual credit Early Childhood Education faculty beginning with the Fall 2019 semester to teach Child Growth and Development at Glenbrook South High School. Child Growth and Development provides an overview of the theory and principles of human development. Content includes an in depth study of physical, social, emotional and cognitive aspects, from conception to adolescence. Special emphasis is placed on the child development theories of Piaget, Erikson, Vygotsky, Skinner, etc., and the significance of family, peers, culture and school. Field observations are required in the course.



Requirements:


A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or a related field, a minimum of one year of early childhood experience, and prior experience with children are required.


A master's degree in early childhood education and prior post-secondary teaching or training experience is preferred.



Additional Information:


Dual Credit Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis.


All assignments are conditioned on sufficient enrollment. Once a course starts, the member is expected to complete the course.
