The UNCG College of Visual and Performing Arts, a member of NASM since 1938, is the only institution in North Carolina offering comprehensive degrees in music and music education from the baccalaureate through the doctorate. Over 70 faculty members teach a music student body of c. 600 majors. For years, the School’s alumni have distinguished themselves in important professional positions through the world while its justly renowned student ensembles continue to perform frequently in prestigious state, regional, and international settings. Position Summary

The UNCG School of Music seeks a Music Theory Lecturer for a two-year, non-tenure-track appointment; renewable, as per needs of the School of Music. The Music Theory Lecturer will teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate music theory courses, including the undergraduate theory and ear-training sequence as well as other courses as determined by the needs of the School of Music and the qualifications and interests of the candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

MM/MA in Music Theory or Music Theory Pedagogy

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Music Theory preferred, ABD considered. Applicants should have a successful record of university-level teaching experience and are expected to be engaged in professional activities in their area of expertise.
