Primary Purpose of the Organizational UnitLloyd International Honors College is an independent academic unit reporting directly to the Provost and is under the Division of Academic Affairs. The mission of Lloyd International Honors College (LIHC) is to recruit outstanding undergraduate students to UNCG and to provide them with an enhanced and supportive intellectual and social experience that acculturates them to the life of the mind and helps them to become critical, independent thinkers who are active in the design and pursuit of their own education, globally aware and engaged, and prepared to lead successful and fulfilling professional, civic, and personal lives. The office is currently comprised of nine permanent staff members, one graduate student assistant, and 2 undergraduate student assistants.
Position SummaryThe primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to Lloyd International Honors College. This key position serves as point of contact for the college. This position provides customer service, handles departmental course scheduling, supports event planning, processes financial forms and transactions and maintains departmental records.
Minimum QualificationsHIGHSCHOOLDIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY; OR DEMONSTRATEDPOSSESSION OF THECOMPETENCIESNECESSARY TO PERFORMTHEWORK.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and CertificatesPreferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of Administrative Support experience.
- Previous working experience at a higher education learning institution.
- Proficient knowledge of Banner 8 or Banner 9.

Customer Service
Essential TasksServes as receptionist for LIHC, answers phones, and recieves guests. Daily responds to the general inquiries via phone and email and forwards to the appropriate person if necessary. Composes correspondence involving program or operational procedures independently from general instructions or brief summaries.

Essential TasksTwice yearly, for both Fall and Spring semesters: Communicates closely with Dean to determine Honors courses to be taught. Communicates with faculty and the Registrar’s office regarding scheduling of Honors courses. Keeps record of electronic correspondence with faculty regarding courses. Maintains files on Honors courses taught. Compiles course descriptions, biographies, and course marker information in preparation of Honors Course Listing. Arranges for course evaluation process each semester.
Schedules meetings, rooms, and equipment in multiple campus locations. Arranges catering for most events. Maintains records and works with colleagues on planning and carrying out events pertaining to ongoing LIHC activities. These include Disciplinary Honors Orientation, Honors Symposium, Honors Banquet, Student Honors Convocation, Artist in Residence Showcase, Cording Ceremony, workshops, etc. Maintains calendars for North and South Spencer parlors and North Spencer classroom. Assist colleagues and faculty with Parking and Motor Pool arrangements, as needed.
Technology and software
Essential TasksUses Banner to access, verify and obtain student information, and enter course schedules. Use of Microsoft Word to type correspondence, mail merges, labels, envelopes, flyers, reports. Adobe Acrobat is used to convert files to PDF format and download information to electronic forms. Email used to send and receive emails and schedule meetings.

Essential TasksResponsible for communication to University community about Student Excellence Award process. Receives and confirms eligibility of nominations, and keeps accurate records on nominees. Prepares applications for review by Honors Council. Communicates regarding award recipients to relevant parties.

Essential TasksAssists in maintaining equipment for offices in Foust, North Spencer, Gray Hall, and the computer workstations in South Spencer parlor (computers, copiers, fax machine, and printers). Orders office supplies for offices in Foust Building, North Spencer Residence Hall, and Gray Hall. Contacts Physical Plant or Housing and Residence Life and completes required documentation for required work or setup for housing events in residence halls. Keeps records of equipment inventory. Serves as proxy for time-entry and P-Card reconciliation in the Budget Coordinator’s absence. Records minutes of Honors Council meetings.
