This hourly part-time position is crucial to meeting the University’s study abroad participation goals as outlined in the W&M Strategic Plan by supporting the growing number of students interested in studying abroad. The incumbent is tasked with administrative support for the Global Education Office (GEO) and serving as an initial point of contact for students and parents who come into the office, call or email and have process questions not answered by student workers. This position is responsible for collecting and tracking documents for study abroad students and ensuring that applications are complete. This position will manage online process elements including program Blackboard sites, parent listservs, preparing sensitive student information, as well as monitor the [email protected] account. The position is also responsible for the annual photo contest, managing various outreach events, helping with scholarship administration and providing administrative support to some W&M programming.Required Qualifications
•High School graduate or equivalent.
•Prior experience working in office setting and/or customer service skills.
•Demonstrated ability exercising sound judgment.
•Strong Microsoft Office skills.
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•Cross-cultural experience such as living, working, and/or studying abroad.
•Experience working in higher education.
•Some experience with a language in addition to English.

•Occasional weekend or evening hours will be required.
•All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve month period beginning May 1 each year.
•This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.EEO Statement
