Position Description:
This position provides Academic Personnel support to 5 Divisions of the College of Letters and Science (College), and will rotate through a variety of academic departments within the College. Under the general supervision of the Academic Personnel Manager and operational oversight of the Assistant Dean of Academic and Staff Personnel, responsible for the administration of the academic personnel review process, interpretation of complex University academic personnel policies, and execution and documentation of appointment and advancement actions for the College. Analyze academic personnel dossiers and supporting materials for completeness and adherence to policy, move proposed actions to decision by the academic leadership, and communicate final disposition to the appropriate Deans. Provide support for other temporary academic titles (adjunct, visiting titles, etc.) and recall appointments for emeritus faculty for the Divisions of the College. At the department, the incumbent will review and analyze the content of the dossiers for completeness and adherence to policy, record information, solicit information from faculty on activities, honors, teaching and research for inclusion in dossiers; maintain records of search committee decisions, participate in meetings, and gather information needed to carry out academic personnel policies in accordance with departmental goals.

Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean, Academic and Staff Personnel and the Manager of Academic Personnel.

In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
