Job Details
SCAD Hong Kong seeks an Associate Chair to help lead the day to day operations in the SCAD schools of Building Arts, Digital Media and Fashion.
In this role, you’ll work closely with program deans and associate deans to provide vision and leadership for departments at SCAD Hong Kong, helping build a substantial reputation for the quality of the department and a strong sense of collegiality as department members work to meet shared goals. You’ll work with faculty on curriculum development, assessment activities and policy requirements and implementation, including course schedules and facilities usage; conduct class and annual evaluations for faculty as needed and schedule mentoring and faculty development opportunities; assist in faculty hiring, student recruitment, graduate admission and student placement in internships and careers; and oversee the departmental budgets and student academic matters.
The ideal candidate has model leadership and supervisory experience in academic area, including demonstrated effectiveness as a leader of academic groups or special assignments. Experience with curriculum development and assessments to improve student learning outcomes is a must. The candidate should be innovative and have an exceptional attention to detail and work ethic, working to meet expectations and quick deadlines on academic and financial matters.

Requirements:
- Terminal degree in a related field
- A successful career as a faculty member, including a reputation for high academic standards and innovation in curriculum and pedagogy
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
- High personal and professional integrity
