The department of Physical Therapy at Nazareth College is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position. Start date negotiable. Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and teaching experience.

Nazareth College has a well-established six-year DPT program with an excellent reputation for experiential learning, a contemporary curriculum, and experienced faculty with various areas of specialty and expertise. This program includes two entry modes, both undergraduate and graduate, with a cohort size of 60 students per class.  Clinical experiences are integrated throughout the curriculum in on-site pro-bono and community-based clinics. Community connections and support are extensive and include opportunities for interprofessional collaborations and global outreach. 

Fifteen full-time faculty, supported by associated faculty, provide a variety of professional, clinical, and research opportunities for students. Faculty has dedicated time for scholarship, access to state of the art facilities for teaching and clinic, and extensive administrative support. Faculty is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive teaching and learning environment.

A newly renovated and state-of-the-art Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute (WRI), opened in 2015.  The Institute’s 66,000 square feet is equipped to house physical therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy and communication sciences and disorders.  Additional highlights include a movement analysis laboratory and on-site clinics with a home transition laboratory.  The WRI promotes interprofessional clinical education, research, and classroom learning while providing clinical services to individuals in the community.

Position and Responsibilities

The department is seeking candidates with an earned doctorate who can work collaboratively with our team of current faculty. Earned doctorates include PhD, EdD, and DSc. Previous teaching experience in a DPT program and 3 years of clinical practice is preferred.

Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in New York State.
