Job Summary The Department of Social Sciences at Clayton State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Spring 2020. Area of specialization is open but preference will be given to a candidate with a Master of Public Administration degree or research in the area of public policy and/or administration of justice. The position requires 24 semester hours of seated or online undergraduate/graduate teaching per year, and the candidate must have a PhD in Criminal Justice or a closely related discipline in-hand before January, 2020.

Candidates should also have evidence of superior teaching and fruitful scholarship, as well as experience working with diverse student and community populations. Success in pursuing externally funded research opportunities is desirable, as is experience or interest in working with graduate students. The mentoring of undergraduate Criminal Justice majors is an essential responsibility.
