Position Summary:

The Division of Student Affairs is seeking a part-time student intern who is interested in developing skills, planning, marketing, implementing and sustaining co-curricular leadership and service-learning initiatives. These initiatives include and are not limited to: leadership and service-learning workshops, institutes and programming, Make a Difference Day (MAD) program, Owl Breaks (Alternative Breaks) program, and University-wide Days of Service.

This position will be for 20 hours per week within the Student Affairs Department of the Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning for FAU Broward Campuses serving Davie, Ft. Lauderdale and Dania Beach locations.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, service immersion and social change programming.
  • Planning and implementation of programming on three Broward Campuses.
  • Marketing of programming, including promotion and use of social media.
  • Assessment of programming, including tracking attendance and impact on participants.
  • Prioritizing tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree seeking undergraduate student with a minimum 2.5 GPA and registered for at least 12 credit hours required.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity and show great attention to detail.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
