Depending on area of assignment, performs a variety of complex clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping duties which may include posting, updating, reconciling, routine auditing, and preparing financial reports. Depending on area of assignment, may interact directly with students and staff providing front-line customer service.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Verifies and edits various accounting reports.
  • Researches banking, student accounts, or billing transactions for accuracy utilizing online resources when possible to resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconciles accounts.
  • Audits invoices and payment transactions for accuracy.
  • Compiles data and prepares reports.
  • Serves as a liaison to vendors and departments.
  • Conducts research in relation to invoices, general ledger entries, or other issues.
  • Provides assistance with special projects as required.
  • May process billings for sponsors and auxiliary accounts, and verifies sponsor agreements and wavier exemptions.
  • May process cash, check, credit card, debit card, electronic payments, or refunds following proper cash handling/accounting procedures.
  • May assist in fiscal year closings.
  • May need to communicate Austin Community College (ACC) policies/procedures, related government guidelines, and eligibility for ACC parking permits/bus passes to end-users or vendors including, but not limited to, deadlines.

    Assignment in the Cashier Services Department requires a valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.Physical Requirements

    Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

  • ACC Benefits OverviewFull-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment.     ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
