Hofstra University is a dynamic community of more than 11,000 students from around the world who are dedicated to civic engagement, academic excellence and becoming leaders in their communities and their careers.Description:Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Senior Assistant/Associate Dean will work closely with senior staff in the admission office to supervise and mentor junior staff in various aspects of daily operations, and work on strategic planning teams for office wide initiatives. This position is responsible for all aspects of admissions/recruiting; interviewing, high school visitations, college day/night programs, application review, and special projects within a given geographic territory. The position will also oversee recruitment of diverse populations to Hofstra.

The Senior Assistant/Associate Dean will coordinate the New Opportunities at Hofstra (NOAH) program, which entails reviewing applications, liaising with the NOAH office to arrange interviews, and keeping in communication with applicants.

Candidates must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, plus some nights and weekends.
Evening and weekend hours and travel required.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required. Valid driver’s license required. Three years admissions experience with knowledge of both international and domestic recruitment preferred. Prior experience in working with multicultural and first-generation students is strongly preferred.Familiarity with Ellucian Banner and Technolutions Slate, as well as a working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a team environment and independently. The candidate must have the ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment. Candidate should possess strong communication skills both oral and written as well as strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership and administrative skills. Excellent presentation/public speaking skills required.
