The purpose of the position is to teach several sections per week of biology and/or environmental science laboratory classes. Other duties include assisting with updates and editing of laboratory manuals and lab practical exams. The Biology Lab Instructor works closely with faculty colleagues and the department Laboratory Manager to prepare and instruct the laboratories each week.

Position Summary:

The Department of Science at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College seeks to hire a Biology Lab Instructor. This is a twelve month, non-tenure track position. The main responsibilities are to teach labs for introductory biology, environmental science, and/or other biology laboratory courses as needed. The Instructor will coordinate with other faculty and maintain and edit the laboratory manuals, and laboratory practical exams. The new hires will assist in supervising student laboratory assistants. The new hires will maintain an orderly, clean, and safe laboratory environment and demonstrate good lab safety practice.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry or closely related field required. Experience in laboratory instruction, preparation and maintenance is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with prior safety or chemical hygiene training and certification
