Description:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide full range generalist support to all areas of the college. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Human Resources, this role will act as a business partner to provide operational support and influence organizational change on campus. Specifically, the Human Resources Generalist will interface with employees at all levels pertaining to recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, policy/legislative compliance, and employee training and development. This position plays a key role in supporting the successful growth and development of the expanding HR service platform including initiatives that help set the foundation for a supportive positive culture. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the Associate Director of Human Resources in the oversight of the on-boarding process for new staff employees including the management of all background clearance, welcome materials, manager consultation, orientation programming and gap assessments; serving as a liaison for new staff employees
  • Assist with the management of a full-cycle campus Performance Management process to include: goal setting, employee feedback and coaching, and performance evaluation; provide guidance to managers on all performance management activity
  • Participate in institution personnel related committees, working groups or focus groups, providing input and recommendations for the administration of personnel on the campus
  • Provide consultation, recommendations, and policy based guidance to employees
  • Conduct exit interviews including trend analysis and provide recommendations to support an environment of continuous improvement based on findings
  • Manage wellness initiatives for faculty and staff including programs and campus wide wellness committee
  • Stay abreast of matters affecting employees to develop and recommend employee recognition programs to foster a culture of positive employee morale
  • In partnership with the Assistant Director of Human Resources, establish and maintain effective working relationships with hiring managers to identify current and future hiring and business needs
  • Coordinate the applicant selection process with hiring managers to drive efficiency
  • Assist with resume reviewing and interview scheduling; with the ability to manage multiple schedules
  • Manage applicant tracking system to include technical maintenance, inquiries, system training, job postings and applicant lifecycle
  • Prepare reports for auditing and compliance purposes; ensuring compliance with all federal, state and employment laws
  • Identify and make recommendations to continuously improve the recruitment process and the tools used to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform other duties; as assigned
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of measurable success in a full scope HR generalist role with demonstrable experience in program management, on-boarding, employee relations and talent management
  • Experience serving as a project lead from conception to completion
  • Experience performing with a high level of diplomacy, confidentiality and trust while projecting a professional and positive image
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize objectives and exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and spoken communication skills to include clear, concise, and highly accurate delivery

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in higher education and/or government entity
  • Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and/or other related business software programs and systems
  • PHR preferred
