Financial Aid Assistant - Financial Aid

Position Summary
Dominican University of California is seeking an individual for a Financial Aid Assistant position. The candidate should have experience with customer service, front desk reception, file management, and working with a diverse population. This position serves as the first point of contact for the Office of Financial Aid for current and prospective students and their families.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the front desk receptionist for the Office of Financial Aid
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of Office events
- Manage student documentation and records
- Perform data entry
- Process incoming and outgoing Office mail, email, and other correspondence
- Manage, maintain, and update financial aid forms
- Perform general upkeep of Office spaces and supplies
- Maintain and update the Office's section of the Dominican website
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of office experience
- Strong employee customer service orientation
- Strong computer skills with MS Office Suite and G Suite experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and abilities
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Must be welcoming, professional, diplomatic and able to serve diverse constituents with equity, fairness, and tact
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Work experience in Higher Education
- Experience with PowerFAIDS or other Financial Aid Management System
- Basic knowledge of HTML and website design
Additional Position Information
- Priority will be given to applications submitted by June 30, 2019; however additional applications may be considered until the position is filled
- Must be willing to consent to a background check
- Must be able to obtain clearance to access Federal Student Aid systems
