Description:

The Instructor, Structural Sciences contributes to the delivery of the Structure curricular component (which includes anatomy, embryology, histology, pathology, and medical imaging) by assisting with specimen preparation, delivery of content, and assessment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creating and maintaining prosections

• Demonstrating prosections to 1st and 2nd year medical students

• Assist with facilitation of Structure lab sessions for 1st and 2nd year medical students

• Assist in grading final examinations

• Attend all Structure planning meetings

• Participate in the development complementary teaching protocols (plastination, digital technologies)

• Oversee 4th year medical students in Structure educational elective

• Assist with development and maintenance of digital documentation of all body donors and prosection specimens

Qualifications:

MS or MA degree required. Preferably in anatomy. Technical expertise in dissection and the preparation of prosections required. Strong communication skills needed to develop working relationships with staff, faculty, and students. Must demonstrate superior organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptive work style, approach challenges with creativity, innovation, and a positive attitude. Must have extensive computing experience and have proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in graduate medical education preferred but not required. Experience with advanced anatomical methods (plastination, 3D imaging, virtual reality) also preferred but not required.
