Dartmouth College seeks an Associate Vice President for Campaign Initiatives to oversee and manage discrete fundraising projects as they are identified as institutional priorities. This includes Financial Aid/Scholarship, one of the single most important priorities of the $3 billion capital campaign at Dartmouth. This position is responsible for developing and establishing performance goals for special fundraising projects, is accountable for monitoring progress and management of these goals, and works closely with Development fundraisers to devise strategies to ensure success in meeting goals.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant fundraising or development experience, or the equivalent with professional credibility, intellectual depth, maturity, wisdom, and collaborative skills to garner the trust and confidence of colleagues and senior leadership; demonstrate an ability to motivate and inspire staff and keep them engaged, energized and focused on results; excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to speak persuasively about the mission and programs of the College; superb interpersonal skills while exhibiting credibility and sophistication to effectively engage and partner with key internal stakeholders; excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, excellent strategic thinking capabilities with strong planning and organizational skills; an ability to analyze and synthesize data to inform decision-making, and excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills; expertise in the creation and marketing of gift opportunities. The successful candidate will be a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising and development initiatives.

Experience working in a large, complex development operation is preferred, with direct solicitation experience raising leadership gifts for special projects and programs; comprehensive campaign experience is also preferred with demonstrated experience in galvanizing others to the highest levels of performance through the combination of coaching, training, smart-data and metrics; experience in employing technology and data analytics to optimize fundraising performance and return-on-investment, and comprehensive knowledge of strategies employed in all major development functions is essential.
