The College of Arts & Media, Dean’s Office is currently seeking applications for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Finance & Procurement Senior Coordinator to provide a high level of assistance to the Dean and the Dean’s office.

College of Arts & MediaAs the first college in Colorado devoted exclusively to arts and entertainment, the College of Arts & Media understands the influence of modern trends on traditional art forms.  We combine the latest technology with traditional methods, and we encourage our students to incorporate their discoveries of art's emerging dimensions with our comprehensive instruction on its classical forms. The college has three distinct departments, Music & Entertainment Industries Studies (MEIS), Film & Television FITV) and Visual Arts (VA). The MEIS Department primarily focuses on commercial music styles. Students are given the option to choose from four distinct emphasis areas of study: Performance, Singer/ Songwriter, Music Business, and Recording Arts. The Department of FITV offers students the opportunity to become knowledgeable about working in both Theatre and Film while delving into their special area of interest. The Department of VA offers degree emphasis areas in Visual Arts include Art History, Digital Animation, Digital Design, Illustration, Photography, Studio Arts, and Transmedia-Sculpture.
Position Emphasis/Nature of Work: The Finance & Procurement Senior Coordinator for the College of Arts & Media, Dean’s Office will oversee procurement functions and provide fiscal management for the College of Arts & Media.
Specific Duties: 
  • Serves as College resource for procurement and travel. Provides ongoing guidance, training and troubleshooting to faculty, staff and students.
  • Serves as the Approving Official for all College of Arts & Media Procurement Cards and the primary approver for all Marketplace requisitions.
  • Reviews all travel and reimbursement expense reports in Concur to ensure compliance with College and University policies and procedures. 
  • Ensures timely reconciliation of expense reports. 
  • Manages Marketplace and Concur access and the issuance and deactivation of P-Cards and Travel Cards. 
  • Processes financial transactions such as interdepartmental transfers, journal entries, cash receipts, etc. 
  • Generates financial reports and performs SpeedType reconciliation.
  • Serves as compliance officer for CAM Payment Card Industry (PCI) merchant accounts. Monitors all payments and refunds for CAM PCI merchant accounts through MyClientLine and CU-Data. 
  • Work with Assistant Dean to establish processes and maintain internal controls related to fiscal management and purchasing. 
  • Works with the Assistant Dean to prepare and monitor budgets, projections, and financial analysis reports. 
  • Coordinates fiscal activities related to scholarships. 
  • Manages all purchasing related forms in Formstack.  
  • In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Research, Collaboration and Innovation, coordinates the College of Arts & Media’s Staff Professional Development and Faculty Development Grant award processes. Tracks all internal and external grants and awards received by CAM faculty and staff.  
  • Maintains records of submissions, approvals, committee voting records and outcome reports. Ensures awards are made consistently in accordance with college policies. Provides reports for the Dean, Associate Dean and Assistant Deans as requested. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits:The hiring range has been established at $60,000-$70,000 is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Substitution: A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the specific degree requirement, but may not also be used for the specific professional work experience below. 
  • At least 2 years of professional level experience in a University finance role. 
Conditions of Employment: 
  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a national criminal and sex offender background check
  • Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends for events/meetings, as requested
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Concur and Marketplace.
  • Experience working within the University of Colorado Denver rules and regulations for purchasing, travel, P-Card and fiscal matters.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Able to identify patterns in financial data analysis
  • Accounting expertise is needed to competently perform the duties
  • An in-depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical skills in order to properly perform various reconciliations and analyses
  • An in-depth understanding of state and university accounting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to present accounting principles and procedures in a clear and concise manner
  • Knowledge of and skills in applying financial and operational internal controls, as well as financial policies
  • Ability to create financial reports for use by the College, and for analyzing account variances and researching discrepancies
  • Ability to work independently, identify and set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
