SCAD seeks an Executive Director of Food Services and Quality Assurance to establish strategic direction for and the leadership of Food Safety and Quality. In this role, you will ensure compliance with regulatory and university requirements and provide the highest quality dining and customer service to clientele and students with safe, great tasting and wholesome products. You will also provide for the development and implementation of food safety and quality plans and the leadership necessary to attain university goals.
The Executive Director will develop and analyze key metrics for identifying areas of opportunity, provide leadership in devising solutions for continuous improvement, and implement and maintain food safety practices following GFSI standards in compliance with all FSMA and regulatory provisions.
The ideal candidate has experience working in high-speed, high-profile operations, such as luxury cruise lines or hotel dining services. Proficiency in accounting, excellent analytical and personal skills, experience managing risk, an understanding of security and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are required.
In conjunction with the vice president of university safety, the Executive Director will implement administrative policies to monitor quality controls within dining services and enhance efficiency. Responsibilities include addressing complaints and resolving problems; serving as recall coordinator and providing overall direction for a robust track-and-trace/recall plan; establishing systems measured by quantifiable metrics to ensure compliance with food regulations and internal and external specifications; offering exceptional customer service and follow-up with clients, students or parents when appropriate.
•Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, food science, food engineering or business administration
•At least 10 years of experience in food services/quality assurance
•Minimum five years in food quality management role and/or corporate food and beverage management
•Available to work Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and weekends/evenings as needed
