The primary purpose of this position is to work independently performing pre- and post-award research administration duties and overseeing important aspects of the assigned faculty accounts to include: all pre- and post-award issues, grant and contract proposal development, reconciliation of expenditures between the Departments accounting system and the university central records, interpreting allowable expenses, monitoring and approving account transactions, and reporting. The department’s accounting and research administration staff are responsible for a range of research administration and accounting functions. This position is part of our research administrations team, which includes another accounting technician. This position has responsibility for performing pre- and post-award accounting functions from initial account set-up to account closeout

Other Work/ResponsibilitiesMinimum Experience/Education

Research administration (pre- or post-award), accounting and budgeting experience. Very detail oriented, strong communication and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to understand complex accounting issues, and ability to learn and interface with various online accounting systems. Experience with Microsoft Excel.
