About the PositionUnder general supervision of the Inventory and Central Stores Coordinator, the Warehouse Worker performs work involving the receipt, checking, storage, inventory, issue, and delivery of materials, equipment and supplies; uses powered or non-powered materials handling equipment and delivery trucks; and prepares and/or files forms associated with receipt and delivery of goods.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

-Perform duties in a central warehouse, including receipt, checking, storage, inventory, issue and delivery of materials, equipment and supplies.
-Prepare and file forms associated with purchasing and data entry.
-Assist trades personnel with counter service.
-Stock and restock shelves, bins or other storage facilities.
-Take physical inventories and keep perpetual inventory records of stock on hand.
-Rearrange stocking order to accommodate new inventory or discontinued inventory items.
-Maintain the warehouse and storage areas, including daily cleaning and equipment operator maintenance tasks.
-Perform computerized functions related to data entry, report writing, new deliveries and depleted stock items.
-Pick up parts and supplies as needed from off- campus vendors.
Minimum Qualifications-One year of experience working in a centralized Mailroom/Receiving where the receipt, storage or issuance of material is performed. Direct experience in operating forklift trucks or similar power-operated material handling equipment.

-Requires the possession of a valid California Driver's License for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required for position and in any emergency situation.

-Must participate in all OSHA required physicals and examinations.
Preferred Qualifications-Experience in using a computerized maintenance management system
-Demonstrated ability to track cost of associated labor and materials by work order number
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-Working knowledge of methods, practices, techniques and equipment associated with receiving, storing, packing and shipping materials and supplies.
-General knowledge of taking inventories and maintaining inventory records.
-Ability to match names and numbers quickly and accurately.
-Ability to keep simple records and make simple reports.
-Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position, and ability to make simple arithmetic computations.
-Ability to operate powered materials handling equipment (including forklifts).
-Ability to apply safe methods of moving heavy supplies and equipment and of utilizing special materials handling techniques.
-Ability to perform heavy manual labor for a significant portion of the work time.
