Roxbury Community College offers a wide range of mathematics courses, including but not limited to, corequisite mathematics, calculus, statistics, quantitative reasoning, and Math for Technology
Supervision Received: Reports to the Dean of STEM
Expected start date: 9/3/2019
- Provide instruction of his/her assigned course(s) such as corequisite mathematics, calculus, statistics, quantitative reasoning, and Math for Technology
- Preparing syllabi and following course objectives for each course taught.
- Meeting deadlines for student progress reports, recommendations and grades.
- Responsible for creating a classroom environment which fosters students' academic growth and guides their professional development.
- Responsible for the creation and revision of daily lesson plans.
- Responsible for accurate record keeping of student attendance and academic progress.
- Correct and return quizzes, tests and lab assignments in a timely manner to students.
- Utilize instructional and audiovisual aids, and all available resources.
- Follow a syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
- Meets with and advises students before and after class or by appointment.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress.
- Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Engineering or related Science field.
- One years teaching experience at the college level.
- Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds who possess wide ranges of academic abilities and interests.
- Familiarity with Jenzabar or similar online learning applications.
- Teaching Experience at a Community College.
- Demonstrated ability to provide diverse teaching methods to different learning styles.
- Experience with Online teaching and OER.
