Job Summary
Coordinatesand maintains a comprehensive NCAA Division I compliance program. Establishes, implements, monitors, andenforces policies and procedures that will enable the University, athleticsdepartment, student-athletes, and representatives of athletics interests to bein compliance with NCAA, Conference USA, and University regulations, as well asstate and federal laws.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Educates all athletic staff members, student-athletes, representatives of athletics interests, and the community regarding NCAA and Conference USA rules and regulations. Provides interpretations of NCAA rules.
  2. Works closely with the Student Academic Enhancement Staff and Registrar to determine initial and continuing eligibility.
  3. Monitors all recruiting activities.
  4. Assists in the investigation and reporting of NCAA infractions.
  5. Tracks information related to amateurism, employment, and extra benefits.
  6. Reviews playing schedules and monitors practice schedules.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Master’sdegree or higher.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret commonscientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaintsfrom customer, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles forpublication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information totop management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to calculatefigures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability tosolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Preferred Qualifications One to two years related experience and/or training.
