Summary Description:

The Project Specialist (SC – FKCE Outreach) will be responsible for executing targeted outreach and engagement strategies to promote the FKCE program to resource ( foster and kinship parents) in Orange County. These strategies will include: regular social media outreach, attending networking meetings, assisting with special events and other duties as assigned.

This position is a short-term, temporary, Non-Bargaining Unit assignment, not to exceed 160 days during each fiscal year. The assignment is on an as needed basis, and may be shortened or extended.

Representative Duties and Responsibilities:    

The Project Specialist will: 

• Identify and create opportunities to build awareness of the FKCE program to the foster/kinship community. 

• Be responsible to create messages and designs via social media to promote upcoming events and/or programs to resource parents and key stakeholders.

• Assist with special events. 

• Attend various meetings throughout Orange County. 

• Work closely with program staff to determine potential audiences and best approaches.

• Position may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of the foster care system in Orange County 

• Two or three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, public relations, and community relations 

• Superior writing, editing, and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Excel 

• Familiarity with Constant Contact and other social media platforms 

• The ability to attend various meeting and activities throughout the county

• Ability to cultivate and maintain community relationships

• Spanish Language preferred
