Thegoal of the Department of Medicine (DOM) Quality and Safety Program (QSP) is toprovide a management structure to oversee quality and safety activities for thedepartment. The mission of the QSP is: 1) to provide DOM faculty andtrainees with the skills and tools necessary to produce optimal outcomes forour patients; 2) to identify synergies and integrate activities across the DOMas a means to augment the impact of this work, reduce redundancy, andstrengthen the shared mission of the Department’s faculty and trainees; 3) tofoster an atmosphere in which quality improvement is valued as an essentialcomponent of the academic medical enterprise.
The DOMQuality Program Manager will oversee and manage the daily activities of the DOMQSP. These activities include DOM monthly Morbidity & Mortality (M&M),M&M Medicine Grand Rounds, M&M Mortality Steering Committee, AnnualShark Tank Competition, and the Annual Quality and Safety Symposium inpartnership with UCHospital. One of these key activities of the program managerwill be helping to start up and shape the Leaders in Informatics, Quality andSafety (LInQS) fellowship program. The objective of the DOM Leaders in Informatics,Quality and Safety (LInQS) program is to develop future leaders in theDepartment of Medicine who have successful academic careers in the areas ofquality improvement (QI), clinical system design, clinical informatics, and/orpatient safety.

- CoachDOM teams and individual to use process improvement principles, methodology andtools on their individual, Division, or DOM QI projects.
- Conducts needs assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of process improvement change. Delivers presentations and reports. Help lead teams that will include physicians, clinical and administrative staff.

Salary andBenefits:
The salary range (or the hiringrange) for this position has been established at $52,418 to $76,007 and iscommensurate with skills and experience.
This position isnot eligible for overtime compensation.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Education Required:
A bachelor’s degreein business, business administration, finance, accounting , education, socialsciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications,information systems, or a directly related field from an accreditedinstitution.
Substitution:A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experiencemay be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Experience Required:
The positionrequires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, includingdirect responsibility for developing and implementing quality programs and/ormanagement of quality/safety related projects.
