Marketing Manager (75% time and remote option)

DescriptionJob Purpose: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing program for an academic or support unit in ways that promote recognition and visibility of specific services and/or facilities being offered by that unit. Areas of responsibility usually include budgeting, development of marketing collateral and website design and management. Major Responsibilities:

  • Formulate specific marketing plans that effectively promote unit product or services.
  • Directly or through others, design and develop marketing collateral.
  • Develop and upon approval, administer unit's marketing budget.
  • Develop and monitor adherence to unit marketing policy and procedures.
  • Liaise with GT Marketing and Communications organization; adhere to Institute wide marketing policy.
  • May manage development and placement of external advertising.
  • May design, purchase and maintain inventory of promotional items.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work Experience: Two years job related experience
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Skills: Application of marketing theory and principles, written and spoken communications, graphic design and production, editing, creativity, web design, budget management, organization, customer relations.

  • QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or associate discipline
  • Preferred Work Experience: Two to five years agency and/or higher education experience
  • Preferred Certifications: N/A
  • Preferred Skills: Application of marketing theory and principles, written and spoken communications, knowledge of graphic design and production, copy editing, creativity, web design, budget management, organization, customer relations, project management, team management.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of websites, CMS systems, and print and digital production is preferred. Detailed project management plans, previous experience managing personnel, and proven ability to quickly revise and edit content and copy (web, print, digital, social) is preferred. This position will also be heavily involved in our digital advertising and website campaigns and should be experienced at working with agencies and understanding SEO, CPM, PPC spend and campaigns.
  • This position will also request and obtain competitive vendor bids/estimates, create requisitions for  projects and follow the process until an approved PO is issued, submit invoices/match spend to all POs, track vendor payments, and produce quarterly spend/budget summary reports to leadership. In conjunction with Georgia Tech Procurement, this position will be responsible for creating Requests for Proposals as needed for large scale projects.

    This position is a 30 hour work week and does have remote flexibility. Impact & Influence: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff, GT Communications and Marketing staff, and vendor representatives. This position will advise and counsel: unit management.
