Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Electronic Resources Librarian (ERL) reports to the Coordinator of Electronic Resources and is a member of the Electronic Resources Unit in the Collection Development Department of the Collection Management Division. This position is responsible for managing both traditional and emerging electronic resources and ensuring efficient and wise use of funding. The ERL creates and maintains documentation and uses the Sierra ILS and ERM to record metadata and order information. The ERL also helps to design and implement outreach plans, recommends purchases and clearly explains decisions to stakeholders. The ERL serves as a member of the Collection Development steering team, and collaborates with other Collection Development personnel to carry out complex acquisitions.

* Works collaboratively with librarians and staff in other library departments in the identification and evaluation of electronic resources to support teaching and research at UNT.
* Assists Coordinator of Electronic Resources in scheduling/administering trials for new resources.
* Evaluates potential new electronic resources on a comprehensive set of criteria, makes recommendations to the Collection Development steering committee, and communicates the results to stakeholders.
* Analyzes and interprets complex information pertaining to electronic resources and creates easy to understand summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
* Builds and maintains strong professional relationships and communications with vendors to obtain product information, preliminary pricing information, and preliminary license information. Negotiates with vendors to obtain favorable pricing, terms, and conditions.
* Coordinates the set up and implementation of electronic resources; communicates with distinct library groups to ensure appropriate implementation and discovery of electronic resources.
* Provides outreach for electronic resources including the creation of announcements, development of training materials, provision of training sessions, and promotion of electronic content, especially incorporation into curriculum, online courses, and LibGuides.
* Creates and maintains detailed, accurate, and relevant documentation and records for electronic resources evaluations and acquisitions.
* Maintains, updates, and assesses workflows for electronic resources-related tasks.
* Keeps abreast of trends/developments in electronic resources management; share information with colleagues as needed; and represent UNT in appropriate consortia or related initiatives.
* Participates in scholarly, professional, and service activities that enhance collection development activities. Serves on library and university workgroups and committees.
* Fosters positive relations with faculty, students, and staff and promotes the University's and Library's commitment to diversity.

Minimum Qualifications:
* ALA-accredited Master's Degree in Library or Information Science.
* At least 1 year of academic library experience, full-time equivalent.
* Experience in Technical Services.
* Experience with instruction, training, and/or documentation involving technical topics.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with III's Sierra or Millennium ILS.
* Experience managing electronic resources, conducting complex business transactions with library vendors, and/or reviewing contracts.
* Knowledgeable about the ethics of library acquisitions.
* Experience applying research skills to selection of materials.
