Requirements

Membership and Customer Service Specialist, Fitness Center - Georgetown University Law Center

This position serves as the head of Customer Service and Memberships for the Scott K. Ginsburg Fitness Center at the Georgetown University Law Center.

The duties of the Membership and Customer Service Specialist include but are not limited to:

Membership Services
  • Supervise Membership Services Staff and monitor the Fitness Center front desk
  • Address and oversee all membership inquiries and contracts for affiliated/non-affiliated partnerships with the Law Center business community.
  • Maintains accurate and current records of all members, membership affiliations, transactions, correspondence, employee records and certifications and ensures compliance with all Law Center and Sport & Fitness requirements of the same.
  • Facilitate, plan, implement and attend all fitness center meetings, training, conference calls and events.
  • Maintain accurate detailed attendance records of the fitness center including intramural, aquatics, basketball, racquetball, training and events.

Customer Service
  • Provide front line point of contact for customer service issues.
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings to address any community needs or concerns for fitness, wellness and programming.
  • Exemplify and uphold all Sport and Fitness guidelines and requirements ensuring the safety of all members and ensuring their compliance of Fitness Center policies and procedures.

Marketing
  • Model and promote the fitness vision and mission of the fitness center through appearance, actions, attitude and engagement
  • Effectively market and promote Sport and Fitness programming via email list serve to members, and the Law Center community via social media, flyers, posters, events and announcements.
  • Participate in Sport and Fitness Functions and events as Fitness Center representative.

General Support
  • Plan, evaluate, and Improve efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Submit transactions and documents to assist with Fitness Center financials. Transactions include but are not limited to Journal vouchers, purchase orders, reimbursements, deposits, procard reconciliations, and processing accounts payable.
  • Manage an organized filing system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in business or departmentally related field
  • A minimum of 3 years in physical education, health management, or other related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and demonstrated knowledge of current fitness standards and trends, fitness programming, intramurals, and aquatics
