Job Details
The Engagement Lab seeks to hire a Lab Assistant to help across a number of projects and tasks, including website/software dev and QA, design projects, and maintenance of the lab. The candidate should be familiar with HTML, CSS, and, ideally, will have experience with coding as well as an interest in learning about software development. This is a 10 hour per week position.
All Engagement Lab assistants, in addition to their role on projects, may be assigned weekly administrative duties that could constitute roughly 5-10% of their time at the Lab.
Work is expected to be done at the Lab premises, unless otherwise arranged with the Project Manager and Finance Director at the Lab. Sometimes, Lab Assistants are asked to help at functions that occur off-site.
The Engagement Lab is the only applied research lab at Emerson College focusing on the media that inform and bring people into the processes of civic life. The Lab works directly with its partner communities to innovate civic engagement processes, augment stakeholder deliberation, and broaden the diversity of participants in local decision-making.
