Position Summary

The Manager, Learning and Talent will manage both recruitment, training, leadership, and professional development initiatives as related to diversity and inclusion. They will source and pipeline diverse talent, research industry trends and best practices, analyze data and make recommendations, track and manage outreach initiatives and partnerships, and manage projects to enhance search processes. This individual will lead recruitment for assigned clients including developing innovative sourcing plans, screening candidates, interviewing candidates, and recommending candidates for hire. The Manager, Learning and Talent will plan, develop and deliver professional development and organizational development interventions to ensure assigned units attract, develop and retain the talent needed to achieve their strategic goals and objectives. They will plan, develop and implement online learning that addresses university-wide training and professional development needs. This individual will also build relationships and synergy between NYU departments to leverage resources, create new tools and resources, and build alignment.


Required Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalentPreferred Education:Master's Degree in Adult Learning, I/O Psychology, Human Resources Management or related fieldRequired Experience:5+ years of progressively responsible professional level experience managing full-cycle recruitment, and in the design and delivery of training and development programs, including designing and delivering leadership development programs, diversity and inclusion training, planning and developing online training, or equivalent combination of experience and educationPreferred Experience:1+ years Experience managing a Learning Management System and using an applicant tracking system.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with candidates and clients, develop innovative talent sourcing strategies, ability to research, report, and analyze information using a variety of tools. Ability to use an applicant tracking system for sourcing, reporting, tracking, and inputting data. Proven administrative, supervisory, team building and group facilitation skills, ability to communicate/function in an academic environment across levels of staff including senior leaders. Proficient in Captivate, Articulate and technologies used to develop online learning. Excellent project management skills. Knowledge of performance management and organizational development tools and processes. Excellent writing and editing, and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with MS Office suite and applicant tracking systems. Certification in various OD and leadership development tools including diagnostic tools such as MBTI, DISC, FIRO-B, coaching methodologies, and 360 tools.
