Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

Highly responsible position charged with planning, implementing, and coordinating onsite management of highly complex events, meetings and conferences. Considerable evening work and weekends involved. This position requires a mature individual who is a self-starter and has a clear ability to work independently without supervision.

•Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of event planning.
•Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise other professional staff and student staff members.
•Excellent time management skills.
•Demonstrated ability to make appropriate financial and customer service decisions.

Supervise the activities and lead the team of two Coordinators of Event Services and two Student Event Coordinators. Work with the staff of Technical Services for event technical needs.

Serve as liaison between clients and facilities operated by the Tate Student Center. Conduct assessment of requirements and coordination of arrangements (including food and beverage service, compliance with Tate Student Center policies & procedures, and detailed room setups) from the beginning to the end of events. Provide direct on-site customer support during major events in Student Affairs Facilities.

Conduct assessment of requirements and coordination of arrangements for all events scheduled by self and by employees on a weekly basis. This also includes scheduling the Event staff on a weekly basis based on the event needs.

Serve as a liaison between clients and facilities operated by the Tate Student Center and provide on-site supervision for all large scale events taking place in Tate Center facilities, in consultation with the Associate Director for Event Services.

Troubleshoot computer input by staff for creating reservations and generation of invoices for major events in Tate Center Facilities.

Attend weekly “scheduling meetings” for all event coordinators, reservationists, building manager supervisor, information desk supervisor and custodial supervisors for review of upcoming facility events and requirements.
