Title IX Coordinator
The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is accepting applications for the position of Title IX Coordinator, which focuses on improving campus safety, eliminating discrimination based on sex, and promoting gender equity. This is a full-time benefited position based in Juneau. The position is be responsible for coordinating efforts to comply with and carry out the university's responsibilities under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. This includes but is not limited to responding and investigating complaints regarding sex and gender-based harassment or discrimination.
The Title IX Coordinator reports to the Chancellor and is a part of a statewide Title IX team that coordinates investigations across the UA system. The Title IX Coordinator directly supervises a Deputy Coordinator in addition to overseeing other important functions and compliance. These areas include Protection of Minors on campuses, Clery Act reporting, and Title IX training. The UAS Title IX Coordinator works across all three UAS campus locations, and is an important liaison with community organizations having similar commitments to addressing sex discrimination and misconduct.
