The Advancement Division at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is seeking a qualified candidate to join its Development and Alumni Engagement team as an Alumni Engagement Officer. TCNJ is a highly-selective public institution located in Ewing, New Jersey - an ideal location approximately five miles from the state capital, and 60 minutes from both Philadelphia and New York City.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and execution of new and existing alumni events, programs, and services designed to foster a lifelong connection between alumni and the college.

The Alumni Engagement Officer works closely with TCNJ's 80,000 alumni and the Alumni Association to manage a robust series of premier alumni programs including but not limited to: guest alumni lectures, mentoring programs, career programming, etc. that strengthen the alumni-to-college networks. She/he will be expected to conduct analysis of programs, communications, and data to determine new methods of engagement.

This candidate will develop systems for training, managing, and stewarding regional volunteers and will assist with major alumni weekends and events including: Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, Alumni Association regional events and others.

Requirements:

She/he will be expected to have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, superior editing skills, mature judgement and attention to details.

A bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of five years experience in higher education or related development experience. Substantial track record of successful volunteer management, interactive online communications and social media planning desired.Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and to travel on regional day trips required.

This position is a New Jersey Civil Service position and carries the state title Professional Services Specialist 3A. The salary range for Program Assistant begins at Range P21, Step 1, $53,611.76. It is included for membership in the Communication Workers of America (CWA) bargaining unit. Permanent appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a 4-month probationary period to access the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
