Job Details
Position provides administrative and customer service support for the Library Department. Answer multi-line phones; answer questions regarding Library services; assist with clerical projects; schedule reference appointments.
Required Qualifications Complete the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.
Have a complete financial aid file (submit all required documents for processing financial aid).
Must be enrolled at NLU at least half-time for classes needed toward your degree.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
The candidate for the Library Assistant, FWS must possess the required abilities: Excellent customer service skills; Proficient computer skills; Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook; Professional demeanor; Clerical skills; Excellent phone and email etiquette.
The Library Assistant, FWS will provide administrative support to the Library Department.
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Answer multi-line phones
Respond to student/staff/faculty questions regarding Library services
Assist with D2L, computer, and printer issues
Assist students with finding books and articles
Create a friendly and welcoming environment
Light cleaning and dusting
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity
Provide administrative and clerical support
Schedule reference appointments
Maintain library collection
Use conflict/resolution techniques to resolve student issues
Please Note: Per the Illinois Unemployment Insurance guidelines, any work positions that are paid and classified as student employment, such as Federal Work-Study, College Employment, Graduate Assistant and Harrison Fellow, etc., are not eligible for unemployment compensation, once the position has ended. Participation in the Federal Work-Study program does not constitute bona fide National Louis University employment status.
