Description of Department: The Oswego State athletics department sponsors 24 intercollegiate varsity sports as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. This is a part-time, ten-month administrative position with benefits.

Description of Responsibilities: The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications will work with the Director of Athletic Communications to provide day-to-day communication needs in the office and at games for the department. The assistant director will also help coordinate the department's social media presence with use of its four different platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube). A break out of each duty can be found below:
- Athletic Communication: Assist in daily office duties, help manage student workers, create department documents, assist with game-day management, provide statistics and work with student media organizations.
- Social Media Coordinator: Help maintain social media platforms for athletics department, coordinate student workers updating social media, create and run social media contests, help coaching staff use individual team accounts effectively, coordinate social media with other groups on campus.
In addition, the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
- Bachelor's degree at time of application
- Experience managing social media platforms
- Athletic communications experience
- Familiarity with the sports statistical software, specifically Stat Crew and Genius Sports
- Familiarity with website content management systems, specifically SIDEARM Sports
- Familiarity with shooting video and video editing software
