Medical Education Coordinator Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201906072821 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $44,200 - $76,450 Position Information Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Educational Instruction, this position is responsible for coordinating the dailyoperational activities in the areas of year 1 and year 2 medical education including organizing instructional activities, classes,and various course components (Doctoring, Clinical Skills and Problem-Based Learning Small Group Sessions) for the clinicalfaculty and medical students. Assists with Block Coordinators and Clinical Threads to identify tutors/lecturers. Establishes backuptutors/lecturers as necessary. Assists with weekly schedules for lecturers, tutors for year 1 and year 2 curriculums. Compilesnotes for tutors/lecturers. Organizes classroom and small group sessions. Makes arrangements for faculty developmentsessions prior to each Problem-based Learning (PBL), Clinical Skills and Doctoring sessions. Sets student groups and assignstutor for each block to facilitate the Problem-Based Learning, Clinical Skills and Doctoring small group sessions. Coordinatesand schedules students to visit with Visiting Nursing Association (VNA) Chaplains, Coroners, Dermatology and Labor & Deliveryfor medical students during the academic year. Coordinates weekly assessment and final exam for clinical faculty and students. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required Prior work experience in a medical school or university setting. Preferred Prior experience in coordinating complex schedules. Required
Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Ability to travel to other university or affiliate sites as needed. Required
Minimum Requirements Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
