Provide quality student (customer) services and academic advising for all undergraduate COBI students with a main focus on transfer and international students; Coordinate and implement transfer recruitment and orientation activitiesQualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education or related field, requiredMaster degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Guidance & Counseling, Business Administration or related degree, preferredPrevious experience working in a university environment, requiredExperience in Student Service and Academic Advising, preferredExperience working with transfer and international students, preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteUnderstanding of curriculum process Must have the ability to, as well as meet, the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University mandatory training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth thereinCommunication and other skills: Creativity and problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) including the ability to effectively speak in front of all size groups.Must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task many projectsAbility to act as an advocate for the student while maintaining the integrity of our educational programs.Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment with constant public contact via walk-in traffic, telephone, email, and individual appointments (in-person & telephone) handling sensitive and personal information. Position will require sitting and computer use for long periods of time, also intermittent standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting. Position may require occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Depending on the time of year, it is a high stress environment. Also, travel within Ohio and Michigan is required.
