Position Summary:

This is an advanced professional level position with varied responsibilities in the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) Dean's Fiscal Affairs Office. The principle components of this position are budget development and analysis, financial reporting and analysis and supervision of staff. The SMPH has total expenditures of over $605 million annually. The funding for these expenses comes from federal and non-federal grants, gifts and endowments, state and campus support, and other outside sources.

This position requires strong budgeting, analysis, financial management and organizational skills and will have a significant degree of independence in this role. The incumbent will be working with campus administration, departmental administrators and their fiscal staff and with our affiliate health system budget and finance colleagues.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of a Bachelor's in accounting or closely related field such as business or finance is strongly preferred. A CPA certification is strongly preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
-At least ten years of experience in budgeting, financial management, strategic planning, and data analysis.
-Knowledge of and/or experience with higher education accounting and budgeting systems.

Strongly Preferred:
-CPA
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
-Exceptional analytical skills; Capacity to utilize data management and reporting tools. Ability to combine complex financial or operational data and provide advice to senior management, administrators and faculty.
-Excellent planning and organizational skills.
-Ability to balance incoming requests from multiple constituents timely and effectively.
