Essential & Other Functions:
The Senior IR Analyst will actively engage in the process of turning raw data into useful information and identifying, designing, and executing research projects in response to institutional needs. This includes carrying out statistical analyses and developing data visualizations. The Senior IR Analyst creates and manages complex data sets from multiple internal and external data sources, including the University’s data warehouse, pertaining to faculty, students, and staff. The Senior IR Analyst focuses on both data quality and the quality, validity, and repeatability of IR analyses, reports, and processes. Among many other projects, the Senior IR Analyst will work on the continued buildout of Brandeis’s online, interactive Factbook. The Senior IR Analyst will also be involved in the management, administration, and/or reporting for various internal surveys as well as coordination and response for particular external surveys.

This position is in the Office of Planning and Institutional Research, which is within the Provost’s organization and functions as a partner and serves as a resource across the University. The Senior IR Analyst will initially report to the Vice President for Planning and Institutional Research and will soon report to a new Director of Institutional Research, for whom a search is also underway. Working with the Director and in cooperation and teamwork with other IR staff, the Senior IR Analyst will carry out analyses pertaining to many dimensions of University life.

Job Qualifications
- A Master’s degree, preferably in an analytical discipline
- Three or more years of total work-related experience, with at least two in work within or directly related to institutional research, involving gathering, analyzing, and using data, preferably in a higher-education or related setting
- Experience and skills in statistical analysis, the use of statistical/analytical software applications (e.g., SPSS, SAS, STATA, R), survey design and research (particularly using Qualtrics), data visualization (Tableau), and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of databases, experience with data warehouses, and important external data sets, such as IPEDS, AAU Data Exchange resources, and the Student Clearinghouse
- Experience with ERP environments; experience with Workday is a plus, as Brandeis is transitioning to Workday
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing
