Bard High School Early College QueensFaculty - SpanishBard High School Early College Queens, a partnership of Bard College and the NYC Department of Education, invites applications for a full-time child-care leave replacement faculty position to teach four courses in Spanish language, literature and culture in our high school and college programs from September 2019 to June 2020. There is a possible renewal of this position for up to two years. BHSEC, a national model in public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to graduate with an associate of arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College and a NYS Regents diploma within four years. The academic program emphasizes a commitment to teaching a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment.

Our World Language department employs the immersion method in all courses and stresses the study of the cultural contexts where the language is spoken. Experience teaching younger students and a commitment to scholarship are desirable. Native fluency or equivalent is required. A doctoral degree in the field of Spanish/Latin American literature and/or Spanish language pedagogy preferred.
