Adjunct Instructor - Physics
Adjunct Faculty Teaching Positions in Physics at TCNJ (Summer and Fall 2019)
The College of New Jersey, in Ewing (between Trenton and Princeton) has openings for adjunct faculty members to teach one section of PHY 201, General Physics I (mechanics, with calculus as a pre- or co-requisite) in both the 3rd Summer Session and the Fall Semester.
The summer class runs from July 22nd-August 22nd. Lectures are held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am through 1:20pm, with a Final Exam given on the last day of class.
Labs follow every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 to 3:20pm; the instructor teaches both the class and the labs. The class would have no more than 24 students. The salary is at least $7,317 per semester.
The fall class runs from August 27th through December 6th, with a Final Exam to be given during the following two weeks. It meets Monday and Wednesday evenings, with lectures from 7:00-8:20pm and laboratories preceding them, from 5:00-6:50pm on each of Monday and
Wednesday. Each lab would have no more than 24 students and the lecture no more than 48; the instructor teaches both labs and the lectures. The salary is at least $9,565 per semester.
The positions require a MS or equivalent in Physics or a closely related field.
This is an excellent opportunity for post-docs and ABD students to gain teaching experience as an instructor of record.
