Job Details
Teach various Physics courses (Lecture and/or labs) at the Woodbridge Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesApplicant will teach various Physics courses to a diverse student population including majors and non-majors. Provide advising for students. Attend relevant professional development opportunities with respect to pedagogy, learning management system (Canvas) and laboratory equipment.
Minimum QualificationsApplicants must have a Master’s degree from an accredited institution plus 18 graduate credits in Physics. Applicants must be skilled in basic instructional technology and familiar with learning management system such as Canvas or Blackboard.
Preferred QualificationsExperience teaching various modes including hybrid is a plus. Experience teaching a diverse student population is preferred. College-level and community college teaching experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong English language communications skills. Ability to use learning management system such as Canvas. Ability to learn and willingness to employ laboratory equipment used in student labs. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Successful passing of a criminal background check. Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates, submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes. Classes maybe held during the day, evening ,or combination of both.
